    Elton John wanted to plug into the super hot Philly soul sound of the '70s. Traveling to Philadelphia, he recorded some sounds with producer Thom Bell. One of the songs, "Mama Can't Buy You Love," was written by Leroy Bell and Casey James, songwriters signed to Mighty Three Music, a music publishing firm owned by Bell and producers Gamble & Huff.
